Hamish and Susan's story

Hamish and

Susan's story

"Cancer has completely ripped through the family."

Susan and Sam had everything; a happy family, with two beautiful children.

In 2011 their world turned upside down when their youngest son Hamish was diagnosed with cancer. After multiple treatments, Hamish very sadly passed away in February 2017. He was aged just eight.

After Hamish passed away, Susan, Sam and Lily continued to raise awareness to help others affected by cancer. But in October of the same year, Susan, who had been treated for breast cancer before, discovered that it had returned and was incurable.

Susan very sadly passed away in May 2020, having bravely shared her family’s story for Stand Up To Cancer.  Sam said: “I take consolation in believing that Hamish has now been reunited with his Mummy to send us rainbows together forever.”

We Stand Up To Cancer in memory of Susan and Hamish, with her husband, Sam and their daughter, Lily.
