Oliver, father-of-one, was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2009, aged 53, after spotting a lump in his neck under his jaw. Oliver had a tonsillectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and then took part in a Cancer Research UK clinical trial using targeted radiotherapy.
