What do these celebrity bakers fear the most?

WHAT DO THESE CELEBRITY
BAKERS FEAR THE MOST?

This week’s new bakers take on the classic éclair and puff pastry – for some that may have been scary enough… but for the Showstopper they were tasked with recreating their biggest fear in cake!

'TECHNICAL TAN' FRANCE CAN MAKE ANYTHING LOOK GOOD

Used to transforming lives through the medium of clothes, it wasn’t so different for Tan to transform a bunch of ingredients into a batch of bakes, right?  After a difficult first round with 'sloppy' eclairs, Tan worked his magic in the Technical round and presented a beautiful battenberg in the Stand Up To Cancer colours, orange and black.

WILL JOHANNA KONTA BE ABLE TO SERVE UP AN ACE IN THE TENT?

Sandi helped British number one tennis player Johanna Konta settle in to the tent with a little game of tennis across her workbench.  Once warmed up, Johanna served up some real treats to the judges, but was it enough to make her number one in the tent?  Her 'really ugly, tasty chocolate cake' in the shape of her pet sausage dog, got very high praise from the judges, Prue and Paul.

WILL CAROLINE QUENTIN'S TACTIC OF SINGING TO HER BAKES PROVE SUCCESSFUL?

Caroline Quentin is no stranger to being on TV, and she tried to lean on one of her many talents to help her bakes along – by singing to them!  It may not have been the best strategy, judging by Paul Hollywood's critique of her eclairs.

It was important for Caroline to take to the tent, ‘I’m of an age now where I’ve lost lots of people to cancer, and I have friends who are currently coping with treatment. It’s a vicious old thing, and I think anything any of us can do to fight that is wonderful. I think it’s important not to be ruled by cancer, and that’s why I like Stand Up to Cancer’s attitude: It’s a shitty disease, but we are going to do our level best to overcome it.’

JOEL DOMMETT ATTEMPTS TO BREAK RECORDS WITH A CAKE TOWER 'TALLER THAN SANDI'

Comedian Joel Dommett is no stranger to taking on challenges from his time in the I’m a Celebrity jungle or his 100 shows in 24 hours for Stand Up To Cancer – so he was never going to make this easy for himself.  Joel was determined to take the Showstopper to new heights, quite literally - by making the tallest cake that’s ever been in the tent. He announced that his Showstopper would be taller than Sandi, 'one tier higher than a Victoria Sponge'.

As he’s proved before, Joel is willing to do anything he can to help Stand Up To Cancer; ‘I feel like I’ve had a lot of experience with cancer, with family and friends. So anything I can do to help, really. It’s a wonderful cause, but also a wonderful opportunity to be in the Bake Off tent. It’s a dream come true. If I’m doing that at the same time as raising money to help fight cancer, it’s a win-win situation.’
