Ben Miller Takes This Week's Star Baker Title

In a bid to be Star Baker, Mo Farah, Motsi Mabuse, Katherine Kelly and Ben Miller tackled three challenges in the fourth week of The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off.

For the Signature Bake challenge, the bakers were asked to create a beautifully decorated meringue roulade with a perfect swirl filling. Next up was the Technical challenge where we saw the bakers make a batch of 18 lemon and pistachio biscotti.

In a final attempt to take the Star Baker crown, the Showstopper challenged the bakers to render their favourite childhood memory in cake form. Motsi Mabuse's 'First Footsteps on the Dancefloor' was depicted in a dark chocolate and hazelnut sponge, filled with chocolate and nougat buttercream, and covered in a fondant dancefloor. Ben Miller made a Yorkshire Brack fruit cake with brown brandy buttercream to form the clay cliffs of 'Robin Hood's Bay' with himself and his family in a boat safely below.

Mo Farah created his childhood footballing dreams by pitting his team Arsenal against Chelsea on a green fondant pitch, sat on top of a ganache-filled sponge, lined with royal icing. Whilst Katherine Kelly rendered her retro family campervan out of a chocolate coffee and vanilla sponge, layered with coffee liqueur buttercream and covered in marzipan.

After a very close call, Ben Miller grabbed the Star Baker title for his impressive 'Robin Hood Bay' Yorkshire Brack. Paul said it was 'a great cake and a dangerous one to do in three and a half hours'.

Tune in next week to see Ellie Goulding, Mawaan Rizwan, Sophie Morgan and Tracy-Ann Oberman put their baking skills to the test.
