Cancer survivor, Shantell Christie, joined the fight along with a group of staff and volunteers from a Cancer Research UK shop in Blackpool for a sponsored sea dip.
After meeting on the Comedy Carpet, Shantell and the rest of the dedicated dippers carried out the ‘Pink Dip’ challenge by making a splash in the chilly Blackpool sea.
Shantell was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in July 2014 and was treated with intensive chemotherapy. She has since been given the all clear and now she is encouraging others to make a stand with her and show cancer who’s boss.
Shantell said: “I want to support Stand Up to Cancer because it is helping fight cancer on the front line and without fundraising events like the Pink Dip, the scientists wouldn't be able to find the cures that we are looking for.”
