DAVID MORRISSEY WINS
WEEK 3 STAR BAKER

The third set of bakers, broadcaster and DJ Adele Roberts, Olympic gold medallist diver Tom Daley, actor David Morrissey and writer and comedian Lucy Beaumont took on three separate challenges in attempt to win Star Baker. First up was the Signature where bakers were tasked with making a savoury quiche in 2 hours. Next was the technical, which saw the bakers creating 8 Stand Up To Cancer bourbon biscuits, with Adele winning this tightly contested round.

In the final task, the Showstopper, the bakers had to make a novelty cake that best represented their perfect day off. Tom created his dream day off sitting and knitting, complete with strawberry lace balls of wool. The judges loved the cake’s look and the banana flavour. Adele created a bucket of popcorn cake, to represent a trip to the cinema with her girlfriend. She impressed the judges with her peanut butter flavour and exceptional design. Lucy created her dream trip to the carvery with Idris Elba and Tom Hardy with Paul saying he’d ‘Never had a cake like it’.

In the end, David won the coveted Star Baker apron, having earnt a Hollywood handshake for his quiche and impressing with his cake showing his perfect day of watching Liverpool FC at home on the sofa. Prue said it was delicious and a great effort. Of his win, David said ‘I can’t believe it. Thank you very much, it’s been a great day.’

Tune in next week to see more baking fabs and fails in with Paddy McGuinness, Coleen Nolan, Joe Thomas and Ellie Taylor.
