Chris' osteosarcoma story

Chris' Osteosarcoma Story

Chris shared his story as part of our 2018 campaign. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2015 after doctors discovered a tumour in his leg when he was just 19 years old. As part of his treatment, his left leg was amputated. In October 2017, two further tumours were discovered. Unfortunately, doctors then told Chris his cancer was inoperable.

Chris was determined to raise awareness of cancer in young people and his passion for playing golf kept him motivated throughout his diagnosis.

"In the 11 years that I've been playing golf, this is undoubtedly the hardest it's ever been to walk around a golf course. But it's also the most enjoyable, just purely because of the journey it's took to get here."

Very sadly, Chris passed away on 7 May 2020.
