We’re thrilled that Hyundai is joining the rebellion against cancer in 2017 as an Official Partner.
Hyundai will be raising vital funds to kick cancer where it hurts, involving everyone from their dealerships and employees to their customers. This incredible partnership includes a unique fundraising mechanism – the world’s first contactless car. The one-of-a-kind zero-emission Hyundai IONIQ Electric will feature five contactless donation points so members of the public can use contactless payment to donate either £5 or £10 to support Stand Up To Cancer’s life-saving research.
The vehicle will ‘thank’ those who have donated using audio and visual cues and electronic movements and will also feature and in-car photo booth which will instantly print photographs that can be stuck onto the IONIQ’s exterior – gradually, the car will be covered in a photographic mosaic showing the faces of those who’ve united and stood up to cancer. The vehicle, which will be unveiled on Monday 22 May at Kings Cross train station in London, will go on to tour the UK and feature at a number of high-profile events from May – November 2017.
Hyundai and Stand Up To Cancer will also be challenging its staff to turn traditional fundraising on its head, to raise bucket loads of cash over the summer! All of the money that Hyundai raise will help fund our translational research, taking breakthroughs in the lab transforming them into tests and treatments for patients, faster.
